Where are the best places to visit locally?

Cornwall is an amazing county, with so many places of interest to visit.

From the world-renowned Eden Project, historic Jamaica Inn, the quirky lanes of St Ives.
The working fishing port of Mevagissey. Charlestown with its tall ships, and recently the location for much of the TV series Poldark.
Of course there's also Port Isaac of Doc Martin fame.
And right down to the most South-westerly tip of England – Lands End.

We’ve featured 4 of our own personal favourites below.
Helman Tor

We have to mention Helman Tor.  Literally our back garden …

From our glamping site, your view is right up over open farmland to Helman Tor. It is a Neolithic granite rock area, a Scheduled Ancient Monument and a Nature Reserve with far-reaching 360-degree views over to St Austell and across the Moors.
St Ives

A picturesque fishing harbour and seaside town.  Wander through the maze of narrow cobbled streets, independent shops and fisherman’s cottages. Sample some of the tastiest award-winning restaurants, cafes and bars in the South-West. Surf at Porthmeor Beach or walk along the coastal path.

Mevaggissey

Mevagissey has a distinctive twin harbour, where many fishing boats still land their daily catch.  The village dates back to at least 1313 and during the 1800’s Mevagissey prospered on the back of the pilchard trade.  Very “picture postcard” in style, pubs, cafes, galleries and shops surround the harbour and narrow lanes and you will find plenty of seafood restaurants that the village is renowned for.

St Nectan's Glen

Situated between Boscastle and Tintagel, and also known as St Nectan’s Kieve, it is a spectacular sixty-foot waterfall through a hole in the rocks. There are also two additional waterfalls on site to visit and a beautiful woodland walk. It is our own personal favourite “hidden gem” of Cornwall.
